The Village Pre-School was established in 1981 and is situated in the Village Hall on Main Street Sicklinghall
We are a voluntary, non- profit making organisation and a registered charity (No. 1036666). The Conditions of our Registration under the Children’s Act (1989) means that we are regularly inspected by Ofsted in order to ensure that the quality of care and education we provide meets the standards required by Ofsted.
At The Village Pre-school, Sicklinghall we work closely with the Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership from which we regularly receive advice, training and support. We work towards the Early Learning Goals (ELG’s) as set down by the The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and we aim to provide a selection of stimulating resources and activities, including free flow play to our fabulous outdoor area, to encourage your child’s overall development
Our aim is to...
How many sessions does my child have to attend?
To help your child settle quickly we ask that your child attends a minimum of 2 separate sessions per week.
How long will it take for my child to settle?
As you know, your child is unique, and so each child has different settling in
times at pre-school. If your child has a favourite toy, blanket or comforter we welcome you to
bring these along to their settling sessions and when they begin pre- school to help ease their transition, and to make them feel secure.
Some children can settle from day one and others may take longer, but please be assured that we will support you and your child though their transition.
Do you operate a Key Worker system?
Yes, we do. your child will be assigned a Key Worker when they begin pre- school. Your child's key worker will be responsible for tracking your child’s development, and for your child’s learning journey, which maps their interests and development throughout their time with us.
